I have made no secret of my love for all things Disney. To be honest, as each year goes by, the obsession is only getting bigger. Fine by me! 5 months ago we took our family to Disney World since going for our honeymoon in 2011. It was such a dream come true to watch our kids faces as we pulled up to the grand gates of the Magic Kingdom. Is there anything better then taking a monorail ride and seeing this sight?
Ok, seriously! This mama was holding back major tears watching her princess meet her very first princess. Belle has remained her princess of choice ever since. Penny was so awestruck by Belle in her yellow gown as well as seeing Lumiere himself. Sigh!
Bringing Disney magic back home and adding a little pixie dust to everyday is something I love doing for our family and the following items are some recent Disney keepsakes that make me happy.
These are probably the most affordable and unique souvenirs you can find on property for the price. Pressed penny machines can be found all over Disney property, both in the parks and at resorts. For .51 cents you can bring home a lot of these fun keepsakes and you wont break the bank. Penny loved tracking these machines down, putting in her coins and selecting the image she liked best. I have pressed pennies saved from every trip I took as a child and teenager with my parents so we have quite the collection going now!
Cut Paper Silhouettes
From the second we booked our trip I put having these cut paper silhouettes of the kids at the very top of my list of things to do. I have admired these beautiful pieces of art for years and I wanted to make sure that my kids first trip to the Magic Kingdom was immortalized in this way. Every time we walk though our dining room we see these sweet pictures and I think about how we had to encourage them to sit still and look straight for two minutes while all they wanted to do is crane their neck and keep staring at Cinderella’s Castle. Almost impossible for a couple of excited kids! It will become a family tradition to have another silhouette made of the kids every time we visit.
I am just in love with all the sweet details. Like Penny’s braid, Ethan’s glasses and their shirt collars! The cut paper silhouette and framing was under $40.00 making it very affordable.
Vera Bradley Mickey Hipster Bag
Ok this one is just for me. When we took our first Disney vacation at Disney Hilton Head Island Resort, I was visiting the gift shop daily eyeing all the purses and bags I wanted to take home. I finally settled on a Vera Bradley Hipster Bag (similar) and I have used it everyday since. It fits everything I need and it adds a little Disney to my day. You better believe I have been eyeing up some new designs too! I am loving this Mickey and Minnie Medallion pattern!
