The month of May is Food Allergy Awareness Month in Canada and the US and May 14 to 20th 2017 is the 20th Anniversary of Food Allergy Awareness Week. FARE (Food Allergy Research & Education) and Food Allergy Canada use this month to spread the word on how serious food allergies can be by promoting awareness, acceptance and food safety for the millions of people living with food allergies and anaphylaxis.
People like our son.
This is a cause near and dear to me and to do my little part to share some awareness and knowledge, I am rounding up my (very) short list of adapted recipes for people who are peanut, tree nut, egg, soy, banana and squash free.
Below are 2 posts relating to taking long road trips with kids with allergies as well as visiting the Magic Kingdom with food allergies.
I hope that this post inspires you to learn a little more about food allergies, the Top 8 allergens and the importance of allergy awareness with people who suffer from life threatening anaphylaxis. If you have a friend or loved one who had food allergies, learn the signs and symptoms of an allergic reaction. That knowledge could save a life one day.
