Week 3 of the $100 Room Challenge has come and gone and I am happy to report I have half the closet organized! If you are just tuning in you can catch up on Week 1 and Week 2. You can also see my Bedroom Makeover, Girls Room Makeover and Office Space Makeover. All done for $100 Dollars or less! If you are new to the $100 Room Challenge you can read all about it HERE.
This week was about adding small storage to this space to keep all of our arts and craft supplies, cards, and pictures organized and within reach. I decided that the bins for the craft supplies needed to be transparent so we could easily see and find what we need and know exactly where they go when we are done using them.
I picked up 6 of these rubbermaid bins on sale for 3$ each. I also picked up some chalk board stickers from the dollar store for $1.25 each to label each bin
I went through all the supplies and sorted everything into the appropriate bin and slapped a label on it. Now the kids can see which bin has the art and crafts supplies they would like to use and they have a place to go back to.
I found these chicken wire baskets for $4 and these tin buckets for $2.50. These I used to store sewing items, cards and pictures.
I used these Dollar store chalkboard labels to clearly mark each basket with it’s assigned contents and if I need to change it up, I can wipe it off and start again.
So this is where we are at now. Half the closet organized and half looks like a tornado went through. Not too bad for half way through the month!
Still To Do:
- Hanging Rod
- File Organization
- Large Craft Item Storage
6 Rubbermaid Bins $18.00
4 Chicken Wire Baskets $16.00
