Welcome back for Week 2 of the $100 Room Challenge! If you would like more information on the challenge, $100 Room Challenge – Lemons, Lavender and Laundry has all the details! You can catch up on Week 1 HERE. Here is a reminder of what the space looks like before.
Before I get rolling on a new challenge I search through Pinterest for inspiration, ideas and tips on what I plan and hope I can do with my allotted budget. This challenge I decided no only was I going to try my hand at defining a space within a space, I am also going to try and make over some old furniture. Needless to say I need a solid plan to keep my ideas focused.
This pretty but functional office in a living room by Love and Renovations was one of the first examples I came across and I absolutely love it! It’s clean and fresh and I love the gold accents in the lamp and little duck on the shelf. It is also between the couch and a window which is similar to my room. Did you know that Amanda from Love and Renovations is also participating in this round of the $100 Room Challenge? Check out all the details of her home office here: Love and Renovations – Home Office
Another space I loved was this family command centre from Home Heart Harmony. I loved the light furniture and the beautiful framed pin board. Get all of the details here: Home Heart Harmony – Command Centre

My childhood desk (which i found out through some google searches is actually a sofa table) looks like this image below. I didn’t want to put it back together for a picture and then take it apart again to paint. I picked this up from my parents with a plan to give the base and legs a nice couple of coats of white chalk paint and leave the top as is. I am not sure what I will do about pulls. I am hoping to change the pulls to something a little more up to date or clean the originals really well.

I had these great dreams of getting this pretty Structube Luxe Dining Chair as a desk chair. This chair was going to make my room.
We went camping for the weekend and right as I walked in on Sunday afternoon I went to the computer to buy one and… backordered until November. I called out local store…. sold out. So after a small panic I decided I would check with my in-laws and see if there was anything I could use in their barn. And I found this.
She is no Luxe Dining Chair but I think it has a good shape and I have a really fun plans for the seat cushion. I hope I can find the supplies I need!
So I have never done this in the previous 2 challenges but I am going to do the US to CAD exchange this time. Right now the exchange rate would make $100USD to $125CAD. I think I might need a little breathing room this time!
