I am back at the $100 Room Challenge this month along with a bunch of other great bloggers to transform one room, in one month for $100 dollars. Erin at Lemons, Lavender and Laundry created this challenge and I am so glad to be participating once again.
If you would like more information on the challenge and to see a few of the rooms Erin transformed, $100 Room Challenge – Lemons, Lavender and Laundry has all the details.
The space I am working with this time is really a non-room. It’s a space within a space that right now serves no purpose. This is the wall area behind our living room couch to the rail which is adjacent to the front door and foyer.
The living room is a large space which is largely undecorated and uninspired. My hope is by creating a designated work area for myself, it will get the wheels turning on how to pull are larger room together in terms of furniture and decor.
What I like about the room is that it gets lots of natural light. It also doesn’t require any painting like much of our house. So I already have a clean blank slate. What I don’t like is the flooring. I dispise the carpet in our house only because the kids have done a number on it. We have plans for a full home hardwood floor upgrade but I wont think of making such a pricey change until the kids are a little more “tidy”. They get cleaner right?!
Right now I do all of my blogging and crafting projects in my kitchen, standing up, at the counter. It’s not working! My computer and Silhouette machine are always on the counter taking up space and making the kitchen look like a cluttered mess.
I am hoping to get a desk in this space, a chair (I am loving THIS one), lamp, some sort of command centre for mail, school papers, appointments etc. Also I would like a clock and some wall art. No biggie with only $100 dollars right!
Next week I will be back with my inspiration and what I have shopped from around my own home to pull my office area idea together. Make sure to follow some of the links below and see what some of my blogger friends are up to in their space!
